Support & Frequently Asked Questions

1. Product Overview

What is JAM?

JAM is an English speaking practice tool that transforms your spare time into 60-second impromptu speech sessions. After opening the app, you'll receive a random topic; click "Start" and speak continuously for one minute. Once recording ends, AI coach Jammy instantly analyzes your pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency, providing sample expressions to help you speak confidently and fluently in real situations.

How is JAM different from vocabulary/grammar apps?

JAM focuses on "speaking out" rather than rote memorization, making it extremely accessible - you can start practicing immediately without studying complex grammar first. After each session, AI provides personalized feedback based on your actual speech. Through frequent speaking practice, it gradually breaks down psychological barriers to speaking English.

Why can just 1 minute daily improve speaking skills?

One minute is short enough to fit into almost any schedule, making it easier to maintain consistency. Each session provides immediate, positive feedback, showing improvement points and maintaining motivation. The continuous speaking format mirrors real conversation rhythm, quickly building expression confidence.

What's JAM's training philosophy and learning principle?

Inspired by BBC's classic show "Just a Minute" and Toastmasters' "Table Topics." Timed improvisation forces the brain to organize language quickly, simulating real communication. App practice provides a judgment-free safe environment, effectively reducing psychological pressure. Structured feedback clearly presents areas for improvement, allowing repeated practice and creating a positive cycle.

2. Features & Usage

How do I use the app?

  1. Click "Start Practice" - The app automatically generates a random topic
  2. 60-second impromptu speech - Speak continuously while the timer counts down at the top
  3. View AI feedback - After recording, Jammy provides instant scoring, corrections, and sample answers
  4. Follow along or retry - Choose to practice with the sample or click "Try Again" for another round

Can I replay or practice with Jammy's sample answers?

Yes. There's a voice playback button below the sample answer that you can click to listen repeatedly.

How long are practice records saved?

All practice records are saved locally by default and synced to iCloud with no time limit, available for review anytime. If you delete and reinstall the app, you can still recover your history.

Can I use the app offline or with poor network?

AI coach Jammy's analysis and samples require internet connection to generate (requires external network access).

3. Learning Effectiveness

What English level is JAM suitable for?

JAM is most suitable for learners who have basic vocabulary and grammar but still hesitate between "dare to speak" and "able to speak," roughly corresponding to CEFR A2 to C1. You might understand articles and conversations but hesitate when speaking, have unstable pronunciation, or use simple sentence patterns. Or you're already in an English environment and need to quickly boost expression confidence for work presentations, classroom discussions, travel interactions, etc. As long as your goal is to transform "can write and memorize" into "speak fluently," JAM can be a suitable training companion.

Is 1 minute daily really enough? How to advance practice?

One minute has such a low barrier that it's hard to refuse, making it easy to achieve "speaking every day." High-frequency speaking plus instant feedback is the core of building language sense and confidence. When 60 seconds becomes easy, immediately add a second round, making the same topic more complete; or extend total duration to 90 seconds or two minutes, practicing sustained output. Further, you can select more professional or challenging topics and repeatedly compare with Jammy's samples for correction. As practice depth and duration both improve, you'll find your expression length, accuracy, and fluency steadily rising.

4. Subscription & Trial

What features are included in the 7-day free trial?

During the seven-day free trial, you can unlock all features available to paid subscribers - random topics, AI scoring, voice samples, history records, iCloud sync, etc. This allows you to truly experience speaking improvement effects within a week. You can cancel anytime during the trial without charges - completely risk-free.

What's the difference between monthly and annual subscriptions?

Monthly and annual subscriptions are functionally identical; the only difference is price. Purchasing an annual subscription at once is about 28% cheaper than monthly renewals. If you decide to practice long-term, the annual plan is more economical.

How do I cancel subscription in the App Store?

Canceling subscription follows the same process as other App Store subscriptions: On your iPhone or iPad, open "Settings" → tap your Apple ID → enter "Subscriptions" list, find JAM and tap "Cancel Subscription." After canceling, you can continue using unlocked features until the current billing cycle ends, then no further charges will occur.

5. Technology & Data

Which devices and system versions does JAM support?

Currently, JAM works on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 and above.

Can I recover history after changing phones?

Yes. JAM's audio, text records, and scoring data all sync to iCloud. On a new device, log in with the same Apple ID and enable sync in "Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Show All → JAM," and the app will automatically fetch and restore all history records without manual backup.

6. Troubleshooting

What if I can't record or microphone access is denied?

On first launch, JAM will show a system microphone permission dialog. If you clicked "Deny" or recording is silent, go to "Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone," find JAM, and turn on the switch, then return to the app and click "Try Again" to start timed recording. If the microphone is being used by another app, end calls or close recording apps first, then re-enter JAM. If problems persist, restarting the device usually resolves issues.

What if analysis shows an error?

Analysis failures are 90% caused by unstable network. Please check your network connection (ensure external network access) and retry. If failures persist multiple times with good network, please contact us - our support team will assist promptly.
